Prof. Dr, Ayman Othman
The British University in Egypt
Ayman Othman is Professor of Construction and Project Management and Head of the Architectural Engineering Department, the British University in Egypt. He obtained his B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering, Assiut University, Egypt in 1991. Since then he worked as an architect and project manager in different national and international architectural design firms and governmental authorities in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. He earned his M.Sc. in “Human Resources Management in Construction” and Ph.D. in “Value and Risk Management in Construction” from Heriot-Watt University and Loughborough University, the UK in 1999 and 2004 respectively. During the period from 2006 till 2009, Prof. Othman joined the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Civil Engineering, Surveying & Construction. He was involved in developing and teaching up-to-date Construction Management curriculum. In addition, he acted as a member of the Faculty Higher Degree Committee and School coordinator for research development. Since he joined the British University in Egypt (BUE) in 2009, Prof. Othman was involved in developing and teaching state-of-the-art Construction Management related modules in Architectural and Civil Engineering Departments. He successfully supervised and graduated a number of Ph.D., Masters and Honours research students in Egypt and South Africa. In September 2012 and 2013, Prof. Othman was appointed the Deputy-Director of the Centre of Sustainability and Future Studies (CSFS) and the Director of the Architectural Engineering Programme respectively. Prof. Othman is an active researcher in the field of Construction Management. He publishes widely in national and international conferences and academic journals. To date, he published 8 books and book chapters, 37 refereed journal papers and 81 conference papers. He is the Assistant-Editor of the Journal of Construction (JoC) and a registered referee and member of advisory board of a number of international academic journals. In July 2013, Prof. Othman was elected as a member of the Council of Association of Schools of Construction in Southern Africa (ASOCSA). Recently he was awarded the Principal Research Award at the BUE in 2017 and jointly won the Best Publication Award in 2018.
Omar Selim

BIM manager with 10 years of experience. Co-founder BIMarabia magazine, BIM Dictionary's Arabic Language Editor. shared in developing production system in several large-scale firms of GCC consultants including Saudi Diyar ( Egypt ), UCC ( qatar ), EHAF ( qatar ) worked as a BIM support, coordinating standards and workflows and developing content for multiple teams working in Revit. He is deeply committed to the use of Building Information Modeling and other technologies to streamline often redundant and outdated workflows. As such, he believes that BIM is necessarily more than a 3D visualization toy. Working as a team member, He has worked closely with Structural and architecture consultants to develop coordination standards allowing teams to efficiently produce designs and reduce errors and omissions. He is an excellent collaborator, working effectively with all members of a team including constructors, engineers, owners, users and designers to bring designs to fruition.
Kamal Ahmed Shawky
BIM Manager - Project Manager
Eng. Kamal Shawky holds a (IEng) Member of ICE - institutions of civil engineers (ICE is one of the world's leading civil engineering institutions and have been around for almost 200 years) .He holds a MSc 2014 in Structural Engineering and has a vast experience in structural engineering design and analysis different types of buildings. He assumed different posts in his career and is currently Senior Structural Engineer - UTW deputy project Manager. He is the Author of Revit Structure Fundamental 2012 Book and Building Information Modeling Book & he is Certified Professional For Autodesk Revit Program (Architecture and Structure) 2012,2014,2015 He has worked in Mega project outside Egypt such as Kingdom Tower ( The highest building in the world ), Air Show 2013 ( Dubai Airport ) , Dragon Mart Mall in Dubai , Shamiyah Expansion ( El Haram El Maky) during his work in Dar Al Handasa . He has worked in Mega project inside Egypt such as the renovation of Cairo International Airport, CFC Cairo festival city Madinaty, El-Rehab and Al-Shabab Power Plant, and outside Egypt such as Danat Al-Emarat tower and Millennium Resort. Eng. Shawky is one of the organizers of many conferences as “Risk Management and Value Engineering “under the auspices of Eng. Hussein Sabour and Dr. Abdelhady Hosni. In 2013, under the auspices of HE Minister of State for Environmental Affairs Dr. Laila Eskander, the forum of “Investing in Solid Waste &Green Design” was held Kamal also had participated in many various challenges such as: BIM Services: • working on team at Dar Handasah to shift Cad System to BIM • working with CEG for shift system to BIM solution • working with ASPEN for shift system to BIM solution • working with Zohier Fayez for shift system to BIM solution • Revit Course for Orascom Members
Heba Abdel Ghani ElSaay
The British University in Egypt
Teaching Assistant at the Architectural Engineering Department in the British University in Egypt. Obtained her B.Sc. (first ClassHons.) in Architectural Engineering from the British University in Egypt in 2016. She received a grade of excellence in both of her graduation project and thesis. Currently perusing her M.Sc. in Integrated Engineering Design Management in Cairo University focusing on “BIM Macro implementation in Egypt”. To date she published 3 refereed journal papers and 12 peer reviewed conference papers. Participated in multiple national and international workshops.
