تهدف هذه الورشة الى تنمية مهارات الطلاب والمعماريين على التعامل مع المناطق ذات القيمة . والتعرف على اساليب التطوير و الحفاظ . و منهجية التعامل و تحقيق الفائدة من المناطق ذات القيمة . التعرف على القيمة التاريخية والمعمارية والعمرانية لمنطقة القاهرة التاريخية وطرق و اساليب الحفاظ عليها و تطويرها . التعرف على التجارب الرائدة في مصر و العالم في مجال تنمية التراث المعماري و العمراني .
من هنا جاءت فكرة ورشة العمل ، ومدتها أسبوع واحد، وهي تهدف إلى تعريف طلاب العمارة والمعماريين الشباب من داخل مصر وخارجها بهذا الكنز والمتحف المفتوح من خلال عقد ورشة أو سلسلة ورش عمل يتم التركيز فيها على سبل التعامل مع النسيج العمراني والمعماري للمنطقة التاريخية، تشمل زيارات ميدانية، ومحاضرات متخصصة وطرح وتطوير أفكار تصميمية لتسليط الأضواء على هذه المنطقة، وفهم عمارتها، والاستفادة من إسهاماتها الحضرية والإنسانية، والمساهمة في استدامتها الفيزيائية والثقافية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية.

Wael Al Masri
Jordanian Architects Association
Wael Al-Masri is Founder and Chief Architect of Wael Al-Masri Planners and Architects (WMPA) which he established in 2009. Before that, he served as Partner and Chief Architect/Director of Urban Planning and Architectural Design for Dar Al-Omran, where he designed and managed several important projects in the Arab region since 1994. During that period he also served as senior architect for the Jordan Sustainable Tourism Development Project, with the Washington based company Chemonics International, involving the development of major archaeological sites in Jordan. He has been a lecturer of architecture and interior design at the Jordan University for Women (now Petra University) and the University of Applied Sciences in Amman. He served in 1991 as Campus Architect for the University of Southern Indiana, USA, and worked for the Kuwaiti Engineer’s Office (KEO) from 1984 to 1990, where he designed several culturally sensitive projects.
In 1993 Al-Masri received his Master of Science in Architecture Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, through the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture. His thesis was titled, “Architecture and the Question of Identity: Issues of Self-Representation in Islamic Community Centers in America.” He received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Manchester, UK with distinction in design and dissertation. His design thesis involved the urban development of the historic center of Fatimid Cairo, while his dissertation is titled "The Arabic Courtyard House." He wrote several papers and delivered lectures, and his articles and work on traditional and contemporary architecture in the Arab region have been published in several regional magazines.

Assoc. Prof. Zeinab Feisal Graduated June 2000 from Architectural Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt. Received Master degree in Urban Design titled “Distinctive Paths – A comparative study between paths leading to the Pyramids”, Cairo University, 2003. Received Ph.D. in Urban Design titled “Pedestrian streets between theory and appliance -Towards a methodology for pedestrianization”, Cairo University, 2007. Worked as a Researcher and Teaching Assistant in Architectural Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, (2001 - 2006). She worked as a stuff member in Architectural Department, Faculty of Engineering, MTI University since 2007 till 2015. During this period, she participated in organization of seven architectural events and two International Conferences. The 1st architectural Conference "Modernism Vs Islamic Architecture" held in MTI university February 2009. The 2nd International Conference "Quality of Life – towards better life" held in MTI university 2012. At the present time working as a Head of Architecture Department, Benha Faculty of Engineering, Benha university. She started the journey of establishing the Architecture department in Benha Faculty of Engineering since 2016. Published several research papers in Urban Design, Landscape, Sustainable Architecture, Architectural Heritage Conservation and History of Architecture. Attended, reviewed and presented scientific papers in national and international conferences. Dr. Ahmed Haron
MTI University
Ahmed Haron A lecturer in architecture department in MTI university, He is The Founder and General Manger of Arch Space Group (Egypt , China, Hong Kong ) , In 2006 he obtained his bachelor degree from Fayoum University ,Egypt . Attended Master Degree courses in Cairo University from 2006:2010, in 2014 he obtained his PhD degree from Beijing Forestry University, China. Attending Executive MBA at Hult International Business School. Worked as design team Manager in China Academy for Building Research, research team member in School of Landscape Architecture, Beijing Forestry University, China, since 2006 till now work as teaching staff member in MTI University, Egypt, participated in many researches and conferences in the field of sustainable development and waterfront development on national and international level.
